Once upon a time far far away...... The Flower Fairy schemed flowering thoughts in her garden.

The town of Frederick is in for some magical surprises, compliments of the Flower Fairy. We all know flowers have wonderful benefits to our daily life. They bring joy, happiness, peace, smiles and most of all hope. We can all use a double dose of hope! As we pivot and think out of the box, we have come up with a new adventure. The Flower Fairy. She is like a wildflower - beautiful, fierce, and free, ready to deliver smiles one petal at a time.

The Frederick Flower Fairy aka Janet Flowers of Nature of Design will be flowering up downtown Frederick when she is in possession of an abundance of blooms. The location and time will always be a surprise, bringing smiles and an array of hope as we transition into the new norm.

The Frederick Flower Fairy will also be creating special bouquets of JOY to be scattered throughout the county. Flower lovers be sure to follow along on Facebook and Instagram for hints of where the bouquet may be. When found, you are free to keep for yourself or share with someone who could use a smile. We ask you to take a picture with the bouquet, where you found it, is it making you smile, (which is perfectly fine) or are you making someone else smile. It is simple to do.

We have had many calls and compliments as we have Flowered outside of Magoo's restaurant this past Tuesday. Here are answers to many of your questions:

- We have been a wedding and event focused florist for almost 20 years. We were based in Montgomery County and chose to move up to the Frederick area to find land, have an opportunity to grow flowers and teach classes.
- I am trained in every aspect of floral design and have been working with flowers for over 40 years.
- I am internationally recognized and awarded for both my floral design and creating amazing table-scapes.

Floral enthusiasts and gardeners: if you have extra blooms in your garden to share, please feel free to bring them to our warehouse or call us and we can pick the blooms up and even help cut in your garden if you are overloaded with flowers. We will pick a vase, design and deliver the bouquet to the Frederick area via the Flower Fairy. You may write a note to go along with the bouquet so you are also thanked for your generosity to make someone smile. This can be a community project making people smile one petal at a time. With all the things happening in the world today we could all use some smiles. Let's spread some joy and happiness and flower on.

As I wrote this blog I couldn't help but think of a quote from Lady Bird Johnson: “Where flowers bloom, so does hope.”
